Mrs. Akeredolu is an accomplished legal luminary with twenty-eight years track record in litigation and administration of justice. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, she commenced her legal career in 1991 as the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Afritrust Company Limited, Lagos. She served as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ogun State, Nigeria between 2013 and 2015 and is the first female to hold that office.
She was a member of the Body of Attorneys- General of Nigeria and is the current Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch. Mrs. Akeredolu has attended numerous local and international conferences, including the International Bar Association Annual General Conferences and the International Trademarks Association Annual General Conferences.
In May 2015, she became Managing Partner, Law Office of Abimbola Akeredolu, a role she held till 2016. She had held several senior legal roles at various top-tier Nigerian law firms and currently serves as Partner, Litigation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, in the prestigious Law Office of Banwo and Ighodalo.
A prolific published writer and researcher, Mrs. Akeredolu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Bachelor of Laws degree both from the University of Lagos. She was called to Nigerian Bar in 1991 and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). She speaks English, French, and Yoruba fluently with basic conversational knowledge of Italian and German languages.
She is the Chairman of the Board Human Capital and Nominations Committee and member of the Board Risk Management and Compliance Committee of Access Pension Fund Custodian Limited.
